In this exercise, we will Convert to RGB. Before you change the color, make sure you Convert to RGB (for digital design) or Convert to CMYK (for print design). Once you are happy with the Image Trace, click on the Expand button to make the shape editable. You may also play with the other settings as they all accomplish the same purpose, but for this simple exercise, we will choose Silhouettes. With your image selected, click on the drop-down arrow by the Image Trace button at the top, and select Silhouettes. You can either drag & drop your logo into the doc or select File > Place (shift + command + ‘P’) to select the image you want to vectorize. Side note: a vectorized image can be scaled to any size and won’t lose image quality. In this example, I created a 12.5”x17.5” canvas size because that is the standard size for a t-shirt design, but essentially, you can create any size canvas. You can either drag and drop your image in Illustrator, or you can go to File > New to create a canvas.
